This year I fell in love with cream eyeshadows and then I had a chance meeting with a cream shadow in a pencil form – a Chubby Stick from Clinique. The review is below!
The slightly protruding pencil centre is optimal for quick and easy eyeshadow application on the go. It’s a really good travel format, when you don’t have the time or the means to carry a brush for your eyeshadow. You don’t even need to get your fingers dirty. 🙂
Texture-wise, the eyeshadow is dense and hard, but that makes sense, because otherwise they wouldn’t keep their shape inside of the case. That being said, it doesn’t tug at your skin and makes the application a breeze. However, you gotta consider that the pigmentation of the chubby stick is not amazing. For me, it take quite a few back and forth applications to get a good layer of color. To see the difference, at the top the chubby stick was applied once, and at the bottom, a few time. There is a pretty big difference in color intensity.
This shade (06 Mighty Moss) I picked exclusively for the color, because I love green colors around my eyes! This shade is an interesting one – from an olive to an almost emerald green. The eyeshadow has a satin finish, because it has microscopic shimmer – really pretty effect!
Some photos of what it looks like on the eyes. I do recommend putting on an eyeshadow base for the color to show through better and to increase its longevity to 7- 8 hours.
